Principals Message 9/29/23

Dear Independence Families:

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.  It is hard to believe September is almost gone and October will be here on Sunday!  

Parent/Teacher Conferences

We will be hosting parent/teacher conferences beginning next week at Independence.  The remaining dates of this years Fall conferences are on: 10-4, and 10-12.  Please keep these dates available for you to meet your child's teacher(s)!

Panorama Survey

The week of October 9th - 13th, all Indy students will be completing the Panorama Survey. This survey is required by the district and measures student perceptions by gathering feedback from students about their classroom experience. Decades of research have shown that student perceptions strongly correlate with learning outcomes and can be an important improvement tool for school systems. The data collected from these surveys helps our counselor and classroom teachers determine which students may benefit from small group interventions to address social issues, anxiety, worrying, confidence, etc.   You can find out more information about this survey by watching the video here. 

If you do not want your child to participate in this survey please complete the Panorama Opt-Out  no later than Friday, October 6th.
